真的很久沒在美國開車了，我還保存由麻省發出的美國駕駛執照呢！

來到英國初期，我開車還會不自覺地靠右邊差不多接近中白線的位置，被補鐘師傅幽默地提醒：“這裡是英國呀，不要害自己！”（他坐司機位的左方）

下面的高視覺效果的高空短片鏈接是 Day time M25。這高速公路連貫了倫敦及英國中部的城市。

記得一次在中部翻譯完，晚上很晚開車回倫敦。

路上除了自己的車子，一部車也沒有，就像飛機場沒有飛機停泊的空曠情景。

那種自由、無拘無束地在公路上高速奔馳的快感，至今難忘！

Those are some really nice drone shots of some Austin landmarks; thanks for providing the link.

That reminds me, I haven't been to the south side of Austin ever since the Palmer Auditorium got rededicated as the Long Center for the Performing Arts. One of these days I have to make a trip to the Auditorium Shores to do some sightseeing.

Steve,

When I went to the Auditorium Shores a few years ago, I noticed that the Palmer Auditorium disappeared and a new building was in its place, but I didn't know it was the Long Center for the Performing Arts until now. I also love the beautiful area around the Auditorium Shores.

Donwton 的道路再宽阔，还是能不去就不去。据我的经验，在这样错综复杂的干线上行驶，即使不堵不塞，也很紧张。一旦看错路标，转错了弯，出错了路口，同样是一场噩梦。

我也喜欢开车。离开城市的喧闹，能开多远开多远。没有目的地，只管放纵地前行。人生要总是这样也不错。

我还顺便看了几篇她的其他博文。作者于1969年去陕北插队，后被当地油矿招为工人，似乎于90年代才回到北京。作者在写文章时，倾注了她对北京、母校、老师、同学以及她所接触过的其他人物的深厚感情，所以读起来让人觉得非常温馨。若不是因为连初中都没上完就不得不去农村插队，也许她还会有机会深造，说不定会成为一名作家、文学家或大学教授。那个噩梦似的年代真是坑了无数的人！

当有几条路径可供选择时，GPS 在导航时通常会指出最简捷的路径。在此例中，也就是下图中红线所示路径。



据报道，红线在早7时至晚20时之间禁止一般机动车通行，但公共汽车除外。如果用华为手机在貌似公共汽车的大轿车上导航，它会走红线还是绿线？如果用华为手机于晚20时至早7时之间在小轿车上导航，它仍然还会走绿线？

昨天山上都是赶“末班车”来的人群。山顶停车场及路边都停满了汽车，甚至还有不少人是骑自行车来的。山顶有个天文台 - Meyer-Womble Observatory，是北美位置最高的天文台。

Thank you for watching the videos. Yes, some of the driving is just too treacherous, but it could cause a state of euphoria.

   视频里的这段路真够惊险的，而且是处于非常高海拔。看到车子在云端转弯的时候，我直往左边倾身。

我今天还能安然待在这里，估计是你往左倾身起了作用。 有些路段确实很危险。好在所有的人开车都非常小心、很守规矩。当前面那两位摩托车驾驶员紧挨着悬崖边缘行驶时，我也着实为他们捏了一把汗。当车子在云端转弯的时候，幸亏有摩托车开道，我才能提前得知对面是否有车从峭壁后拐出来。大概这就是为什么 VIP 通常都要有摩托车开道的原因。
