China’s Pan Zhanle accused Australia's Kyle Chalmers of snubbing him on the opening night of competition and American swimmer Jack Alexy of allegedly acting disrespectfully towards Chinese coaches during a training session. Zhanle made his comments in an interview with a Chinese broadcaster after the men’s 100m freestyle final in which he broke the world record. Chalmers labelled the allegation towards him 'a bit weird' and added: 'We had a laugh together at warm-down last night – but no issues from my end.'

However, Chalmers painted a very different picture of what happened when he crossed paths with Pan during the week ahead of their big showdown.

'Pan, the Chinese boy, straight before we walked out said: "You're my idol and I love, love, love watching you",' Chalmers said. 'So that was kind of crazy.'

Fact #1 : No one else saw Jack Alexy splash Chinese coaches

According to Pan Zhanle, Jack Alexy appeared to “deliberately” splash water on the Chinese coaches while he was doing a flip turn.

As anyone who has watched relay swimming can tell you – people standing next to the touchpad are likely to get splashed whenever a swimmer does a flip turn. But how does any swimmer “deliberately” target who they splash when they do the flip turn???

For his part, Jack Alexy was surprised by Pan’s allegations, and pointed out that doing turns was a normal part of training:

I can honestly tell you I don’t know when that happened. Doing turns is part of anyone’s work process. When I heard that, I was pretty surprised.

Perhaps he did, perhaps he didn’t. No one else could confirm or verify Pan’s account. Not even the Chinese coaches, who were allegedly splashed by Alexy, spoke up about the “grave insult” of being splashed while standing at the pool side.

Perhaps those Chinese coaches understood that getting splashed with water is, literally, an occupational “hazard” of all swimming coaches…

It would beggar belief that Kyle Chalmers would publicly defend Pan Zhanle against doping concerns if he really did not respect the Chinese star swimmer.

On June 16, 1958, French photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson arrived in Beijing. According to a press release from the Chinese Photographers Association (CPA), Cartier-Bresson came to China on a “photographic visit” for a book to be entitled “Ten Years of the People's Republic of China.” As “friends will be treated with good wine,” on June 26, the president and vice president of the CPA received Cartier-Bresson and hosted him at a banquet according to Chinese etiquette. During Cartier-Bresson's shooting in Beijing, the CPA also sent someone to accompany him.

Cartier-Bresson's relationship with China can be traced back to 1949 when he came to China for almost a year to take photographs, commissioned by the American magazine Life. China was at the crossroads of history that year. He took many photographs, some of which were published in Life pictorial. After returning to the West, he published a large photo book, D’une Chine à l’autre, 1954 (in English, From One China to the Other, 1956). The French version’s preface was written by Jean-Paul Sartre, the leading figure in French existentialism.

学习机中出现不当内容，科大讯飞市值蒸发逾百亿

近日，有家长在孩子的科大讯飞学习机中一篇名为《蔺相如》的作文中，发现涉及扭曲历史的内容，家长询问客服后，客服回复称文章已经通过审核。

这位家长认为，上述作文中的内容违背主流价值观，此外，科大讯飞学习机中还有“历史虚无主义”“宣扬偶像当明星”等内容，于是私信微博大V“明德先生”反映情况，该博主10月15日在社交平台发表相关截图，并公开喊话账号“科大讯飞AI学习机”——“文章如何过审的”？

“文化大革命”的历史，证明毛泽东发动“文化大革命”的主要论点既不符合马克思列宁主义，也不符合中国实际。这些论点对当时中国阶级形势以及党和国家政治状况的估计，是完全错误的。

一、“文化大革命”被说成是同修正主义路线或资本主义道路的斗争，这个说法根本没有事实根据，并且在一系列重大理论和政策问题上混淆了是非。“文化大革命”中被当作修正主义和资本主义批判的许多东西，实际上正是马克思主义原理和社会主义原则，其中很多是毛泽东自己过去提出或支持过的。“文化大革命”否定了建国以来17年大量的正确方针政策和成就，这实际上也就在很大程度上否定了包括毛泽东自己在内的中共中央和人民政府的工作，否定了全国各族人民建设社会主义的艰苦卓绝的奋斗。

二、上述的是非混淆必然导致敌我的混淆。“文化大革命”所打倒的“走资派”，是党和国家各级组织中的领导干部，即社会主义事业的骨干力量。党内根本不存在所谓以刘少奇、邓小平为首的“资产阶级司令部”。确凿的事实证明，硬加给刘少奇的所谓“叛徒”、“内奸”、“工贼”的罪名，完全是林彪、江青等人的诬陷。八届十二中全会对刘少奇所作的政治结论和组织处理，是完全错误的。“文化大革命”对所谓“反动学术权威”的批判，使许多有才能、有成就的知识分子遭到打击和迫害，也严重地混淆了敌我。

10月24日消息，近日，有家长宣称在自家孩子的科大讯飞学习机中发现了一些诋毁伟人、扭曲历史等违背主流价值观的内容。对此，科大讯飞董事长刘庆峰回应称，已在发现后第一时间下架内容，并对负责保障内容安全的合作伙伴作出处罚处理，同时内部已经将用于大模型上的内容审核机制放在了学习机上，力求使学习机的内容审核更加严格。
