I accidentally came across this version of 《前门情思大碗茶》some years ago, sung by 杭天琪, which I thought was pretty nice. Leading up to the Beijing Olympics, I searched for some contemporary Chinese songs palatable to my ear just to post to the forum. Unfortunately, the pickings were pretty slim. ...
