I have no weekend habits. It depends! First of all, if I haven’t things to do (work or domestic chores) I might sleep late, cook a nice meal and spend time doing nothing… Sometimes, my daughters and some of my grandchildren (the ones that live in Portugal) come to my house for lunch on Sunday. After that, we might play cards, enjoy a walk by the river or a beach, go to the cinema or an open-air concert if the weather is fine… | | | Ana Vozone Local time: 04:43 Member (2010) English to Portuguese + ...
Having nothing on my calendar/schedule and simply asking myself: "Hmmm... What would you really fancy doing now?" | | | neilmac Spain Local time: 05:43 Spanish to English + ...
If I have work that needs to be done, then I'll do that. Otherwise I might do a bit of cooking, drive into town to the central market and buy some delicacies. And this evening I'll be watching the football (and rooting for Switzerland)...

I savour the fact that I can just get on with life without clients contacting me.
Other than that, I do the same as throughout the week: I work if it makes sense to get ahead on my translations, I do my volunteer work, I walk the dog, I go swimming, cycling, I do my yoga.
If anything I'm less likely to do interesting stuff at the weekend: I prefer to go to art exhibitions in the week because there are marginally fewer people around.
I might socialise more at the weekend, but... See more I savour the fact that I can just get on with life without clients contacting me.

I might socialise more at the weekend, but as friends are all starting to retire there's less of an obligation to wait for the weekend ▲ Collapse
I thought most people here spent their weekends working?
I mostly spend my weekends in bed with an array of beautiful women. | | | | IrinaN United States Local time: 22:43 English to Russian + ...
I hate crowds except for my audiences during interpretation assignments:-) and do all my errands, shopping, driving to walk on the Gulf beach, and "cultural entertainment", such as art exhibitions, for example, on business days. Saturday early mornings - house chores followed by the extended face and body treatments:-). Most of my friends either are retired or do freelance/run their own businesses and we do not depend on the calendar for get-togethers.

This weekend will be fun [sarcasm] - Beryl is turning on us and I'm expecting Cat I hit tomorrow night. Gotta clear my balcony to make sure nothing is left there to turn into projectiles. Bracing for power under 37 C and 78% humidity but so far there is not enough reason for major panic or evacuation. Me and my car are high enough to survive a surge, verified:-) Oh well, the break is over, back to work. In two hours the heat will become unbearable, turning even a 2-minute trip to a dumpster into a torture. No full retirement life in Houston, that's a given:-) Still need to get water and gas and then not to forget to charge all my backup power sources.
When God wants to punish Americans, he sends earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes. When he wants to punish everyone else, he sends Americans
Have a great weekend!

I'm a Sunday solo hiker (and sometimes a 2-day weekend camping trip hiker). I walk between 20 and 25 km most of the time. Being surrounded by mainly nature during 4 to 5 hours is the best therapy/recharging method imaginable.
...I enjoy the good paid translation work left by clients who truly appreciated my work in the past 17 years and still do and who are willing to pay the price I set. My working week as a service technician often ends on Thursday evening, time enough left to make some extra money for an earlier retirement or my dream car (a "Jag" this time).
