I think that every person interested in working as a translator or interpreter should be aware of many different facts contained in this article. For it sheds light on a series of issues faced by the very core of national economies: the companies, small and big - and their need to make good use of linguistic resources available worldwide.

Perhaps this article could be the preface to a longer essay / research on those issues. In any case, if this article is to be read by language professionals, it constitutes a good starting point for a person who has language skills to offer - and no concrete idea of where to target his efforts.
