Dear client,
The final ten years before I became self employed as a translator I was the head of the English Department of the Enschede Polytechnic & Business School in the Netherlands, now called Saxion Hogeschool (http://www.saxion.nl/). Apart from teaching English language skills to Dutch students, I used to be the Dutch teacher for international students from all over Europe and the in-house translator of Dutch students’ workbooks into English--and the other way around-- for the international classes. An important part of the students' teaching package was mastering the art of making correct and readable translations, mostly legal, economic or technical, from Dutch into English v.v. Because of my above experience, accuracy and quality of my translations are guaranteed, which fact is reflected in the name AAA-Translator, in which name the three As stand for Accuracy, Fast delivery and Reasonable fees.
Apart from translating from Dutch into English v.v., I do translations from German, Frisian and Flemish into Dutch or English (US / UK). I speak German and Frisian too because I grew up tri-lingually, i.e. in a Dutch, Frisian and German language culture. As I studied Spanish for four years I have a great command of Spanish too.
Before I studied English and became a Nautical College teacher and an English teacher I made a career as an officer in the mercantile marine, which accounts for the fact that I am a very technical person too. I’d like to refer you to my CV for further information.
