Bio
As a native Ukrainian, I grew up speaking Ukrainian and Russian. I started studying English 27 years ago and hold a Master of Arts with Honors in English Translation and Interpreting and English Education from Zaporizhzhia Classic University. Upon graduating college, I continued as an intern at the "Intourist Hotel" in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. I then had my first career at "Alfa Stroy Baking Company" as a translator and interpreter. Besides that, I taught English at high school #19 in Zaporizhzia and was an English private tutor.
I moved to the United States 15 years ago to continue my studies in English. Therefore, as a 15-year US resident and a native and active Ukrainian and Russian speaker, my cultural relevance extends across borders.
I have worked as a translator in the US for ten years and have extensive experience translating, proofreading, subtitling, and interpreting.
As a licensed real estate agent, I am familiar with and comfortable with real estate translation. With 14 years of sales experience, I specialize in marketing, retail, hospitality, social media, education, and tourism. I participate in pro-bono translations for the Translators without Borders global volunteer community and the TED Translators program.
To ensure the quality of the translation, I do not accept medical, engineering, or technical materials.
My work as a translator is defined by a studied approach to language nuance and detail, which results in technically accurate and culturally authentic translations. The tone is always carefully considered for each project to ensure the final voice is appropriate to the content and target audience.
