Bio
Earlier in my career, I worked as an editor in a publishing company and have also translated books from English to Indonesian and vice versa. I also worked as a journalist on the premier English-speaking newspaper in Indonesia (Jakarta Post). As a reporter, I covered news and wrote features on agriculture, the economy and the arts. Between 1994-2000 I worked for the BBC World Service in London in the Indonesian section. I undertook multiple roles included producing and presenting news and other programmes, as well as reporting and translating. I now undertake a considerable amount of work with charity and human rights organisations in the UK and abroad, including Amnesty International, Save the Children, Rain Forest Norway, Greenpeace and CAFOD. My portfolio of work has included translating press releases, project proposals, training materials, annual reports and papers.

Over the years I have also worked on legal and pharmaceutical, fashion and textile related documents and transcreation. I also co-translated a complete novel "Suite française" by Irène Némirovsky from French to Indonesian.

I am experienced in subtitling film and TV productions and company video presentations. I have worked for an international subtitling company and several production houses in the UK. I've also transcripted and translated scripts and other texts related to radio/TV. My clients in this field include the BBC, Summer Film (which among others produces programmes for Discovery Channel and Channel 5) and many production houses in the UK.

I also undertake interpreting commissions and have certificates for interpreting in courts and within the police / criminal justice system more generally. I have also translated a book on policing and human rights and a workshop handbook for journalists in a campaign to combat violence against women.

In recent years, I have also been regularly commissioned to translate for several market research projects, copywriting, medical and pharmaceutical documents, website localisation and e-learning materials for banks.

I am a member of the Association of Indonesian Translators (HPI) and a user of SDL Trados 2019 PLEASE EMAIL ME FOR MY UPDATED CV!
