I have worked as a language teacher, teaching English at Japanese high schools and teaching Japanese at university and adult education courses in UK.
I have worked as a researcher at the healthcare department of an international market research organisation based in London, where I translated questionnaires regarding the treatment of various diseases and carried out telephone interviews with physicians and specialists in Japan.
Since 2002 I have been working as a freelance translator, my specialised areas include healthcare, marketing and tourism (e.g. translation of audio tour guide scripts). I also have been involved in market research projects including transcribing the interviews, and subtitling of some BBC dramas and documentaries.
I also work as an interpreter, both in commercial and public sectors (mainly in health and immigration).
I like the arthouse cinema, arts, music and am interested in the eco-friendly living. I would welcome the opportunity to work in these fields too. |
