I have been active as a fulltime freelance translator since January 2001. My specialization is ICT, and in that field I have translated a lot of software design documents, software manuals, hardware manuals, and I have worked on software localisation several times. Besides ICT I have successfully worked on several other types of texts, such as home appliance manuals, audio/video manuals, documentation for industrial machines, business/financial/marketing texts, etc.
How I work :
A quick response to a job offer, identification of unclear or problematic parts at the start of the process, maintaining a good and clear style, terminology register per customer and type of text, solid spell checking, strongly committed to delivering on or ahead of time.
I have obtained a bachelor's degree in Information and Communication Technology, from the polytechnical Hogeschool Enschede, the Netherlands.
After graduation I have been employed for 6 years at 4 different ICT-companies, and I have worked on various software projects, with various fields of interest.
In 2001 I made the switch to be a full-time freelance translator, and haven't regretted that decision since.
