Looking for MT/LLM company to sell them: Italian to English post editing find & replace data Thread poster: Simon Sobrero

Twenty years ago, whilst machine translation post editing by hand, I saved 43,000 of my find & replace entries. Insane huh? Most are obsolete due to the high quality of MT/GENAI now. But it would still be useful for training a
machine. Would like to sell the database (a simple Word file) before I retire. Any ideas of where? Money reward of course.

but in my Modus Operandi / Standard Operating Procedure, just on its own, without links to the related ST and its translation for each term, all these "replacements" would be plain worthless to me.
Even MT has moved away long time ago from "context-free" data. | | | Simon Sobrero United Kingdom Italian to English + ... TOPIC STARTER
What is ST?
Sure not so useful for you (Word find and replace would take an hour or two!).
But surely GENAI does use context free data if the data was human checked in the first place, in the same way it uses arbitrary human instructions. Although probably 90% of it would be irrelevant now that GENAI is so good... | | | Daryo United Kingdom Local time: 03:33 Serbian to English + ...

A free-floating term without AT LEAST one full sentence in which it was used (or preferably a whole document!) is of rather limited usefulness.
For comparison, have you ever heard of the COBUILD database? What would be its value in contrast to a collection of isolated words a.k.a. a bog standard "dictionary/glossary"?
Never mind a very real danger that seems to be all too often cheerfully ignored by enthusiasts of "automated word processing": what guarantee do you have that in EVERY single instance the word you want to "automatically replace" was used in the same meaning? Not to forget another not so small problem: I would never trust some software (written by someone who probably never translated a sentence in their life) to decide how to slice a text in meaningful elements/fragments, i.e. which words form a group or not. | |

- I had never heard of COBUILD! Useful link for translators please?
- GENAI (large language models) are doing away with the need for the trust and guarantees needed in machine translation, instead looking at statistics. Think common groupings, brute force, a helpful hand, not "right every time"!
- Mine is a quality database (if you trust me! and, yes, for my specialisations) which was looking at the most common problems and solutions. I only entered the data when I got sick of seeing... See more - I had never heard of COBUILD! Useful link for translators please?

- Mine is a quality database (if you trust me! and, yes, for my specialisations) which was looking at the most common problems and solutions. I only entered the data when I got sick of seeing the same MT error again and again. It would only need to be used once to correct (in my humble opinion) a huge LLM.
- But I should have sold it many years ago, now GENAI needs it less and less, so would be happy with $ 1000s or even 100s!
