Too many (CAPTCHA) tests to check for whether I'm genuine. Is there something else going on? Thread poster: Peter Motte

Why would you do that?
Because all those temporary files affect your computer's performance. So I've made it a habit to erase my browsing history at the end of each working day.

That's your private affair... though the incognito mode might come in handy.

While I'm working I like to enjoy the benefits of not being in incognito mode (frequently visited pages that load faster, etcetera). It's not about privacy (in first intance), it's about relieving my computer and making it work at it highest potential.

Yet another disadvantage of PEMT.
As a human translator, I too take a hands-on approach to my well-being at the end of the day, but it doesn’t involve looking at pictures of traffic lights.

Don't worry, I don't look at pictures of traffic lights at the end of the day either. But my wellbeing is, among other things, directly connected to a good performing computer.

Needing to squeeze every ounce of performance out of your PC.
My PC is ancient and slow but that doesn’t matter because it’s basically just a typewriter.

And you still use paper dictionaries and ride a horse instead of a car ? 😉

I just had to go through at least 30 of these. Time-consuming.

I access many other sites through Google Chrome and nowhere do I get the stubborn CAPTCHA but on ProZ (yes, my cookies are cleaned). Are we indeed training an AI? The other day it took me endless number of attempts, then I just had to change my browser. I didn't check the clock, but I must have tried for at least 15 minutes, then it became pointless.

I was reminded of this scene for some reason (because of the horse/car thing I think), and surprised that I actually found it on Youtube... good series this was.
