Why is the reply-to address for profile email transactions@proz.com?

A colleague sent me an email via the profile email link. When I wanted to reply, I noticed that the reply-to address was transactions@proz.com instead of the user's email address.

This doesn't make much sense to me. In the past, it was possible to reply directly to the user. Is this another broken feature?

I just sent you an email via your profile. Let us know the reply address, but don't post my full email address (if that shows) here, please (spam protection), just the domain.

You could try to reply to that address and see what happens.

But I don't get why the reply no longer goes directly to the sender.

Nothing so far. Another broken feature. Let's see what support replies. Proz.com is becoming like a black hole.

'The development team applied a temporary change to fix the email notification issue via the email transactions@proz.com.
We already discussed this, and the change will be applied again to make a proper fix and ensure that all emails can be replied to appropriately.
I will let you know once it is done.'

So now we can send emails via profiles again, but the recipient can... See more

If it worked before, why not just reverting what has been done that caused the issue, instead of those patches?
And most of all: Who makes such bad changes?
