Удоканское месторождение расположено на территории Каларского района Забайкальского края в 55 км от с. Чара, в 30 км южнее железнодорожной станции Чара Байкало-Амурской магистрали.
На участке недр особо охраняемых природных территорий (ООПТ), участков недр ограниченного землепользования нет.
Месторождение расположено в центральной, самой высокой части хребта Удокан, где контрастно сочетаются формы сглаженного, слабо холмистого рельефа с альпийским. Максимальные абсолютные отметки на площади месторождения 1800-2100 м, минимальные - 1200-1300 м.
В районе месторождения открыты и разведаны месторождения железа, каменного угля, редких металлов, сынныритов, строительных материалов, подземных вод.
Translation - English Geological characteristics of the region
Udokan Deposit is located on the territory of Kalar Region of Zabaikalyу Territory, 55 kilometers of Chara settlement, 30 kilometers south of Chara railway station of the Baikal-Amur Mainline.The area of the subsoil plot equals 122,7 km2.
The subsoil plot contains neither specially protected natural reservations (SPNR), nor limited land-use subsoil blocks.
The deposit is located in the central, highest part of the Udokan range, where contrast combinations of subdued, slightly undulating relief with alpine terrain are to be found. Highest absolute elevations on the territory of the deposit are 1800-2100m, while 1200-1300m are the lowest.In the vicinity of the field there are discovered and prospected deposits of iron, mineral coal, rare metals, synnyrites, construction materials, and ground water.
