“Accoutrement” is a very useful, if rather uncommon word – it describes everything and anything that you use along with the main tools and equipment you need: e.g. in fishing, the bait, extra lines taken along in case the main one breaks etc. would be accoutrements.
One of the ways the word “accoutrement” could be used would be e.g. of a "rahle" (reading stand) – it could legitimately be termed a religious accoutrement.
