Not sure if it proves anything, but there is a Russian new Year mouse:

Ekaterina Filatova Jan 2, 2008:
To me it looks like a referral to the new year - year of the Mouse according to the Chinese calendar. What else can it be about? : )
Igor Savenkov Jan 2, 2008:
No, I don't know any Russian tradition conserning with mouse. Only with cat in new house :)

Christmas or New Year? Somebody wrote me this. There is almost no context. Can this be linked to the russian Christmas or New Year?

How did the Mouse sneak into your house?

There's no context, so it's hard to judge, but the Russian phrase sounds like a line from a poem to me. I think this best reflects that.

How did Mouse sneak in your house?

Так самая лучшая рифма получается.
Более правильный вариант (с точки зрения языковых правил), кажется, такой:
How did the Mouse sneak into your house?

agree Maksym Nevzorov : yes, most probably this is reference to Chinese symbol of the year - it is now very popular to use it as a symbol of New year in Russia (even though the Chinese year will start much later)
