I was born in Uruguay, but at an early age my family and I moved to Sydney, Australia - where I lived for almost 20 years. Living another culture was for me a highly enriching experience.
On my arrival back to Uruguay, I decided to do the TESOL (Teacher of English as a Second Language) course, graduating with top marks. I have now been a teacher for 15 years.
What has been most rewarding, has been the possiblity of teaching students of all ages (from children to adults) and levels, including the preparation of International Exams. I also teach E.S.P ( English for Specific Purposes) in different multinational companies and also to those working in the hotel, restaurant and tourism industry.
Being an official Tourist Guide - another love of mine - has enabled me not only to provide interpreting services, but also to show my country to the world and exchange cultural knowledge with our visitors.
I started translating and proof-reading varied texts years ago for acquaintances and enjoyed it so much so that I have taken it up as a nother job opportunity - working freelance from home. |
