Source text - Spanish El informe preparado por el Dr. ABC de la Asociación Argentina de Abogados Ambientalistas detalla el régimen legal aplicable a la empresa AAA S.A.
En dicho informe establece que en el año 2015 se instalaron en el Ecopaque de la localidad de xxxx, Provincia de xxxx, las empresas AAA, BBB y CCC. Luego, indica que el residuo peligroso que acumula la empresa AAA se encuentra sin ningún tipo de resguardo y protección y que según los registros ambientales la empresa realiza procesos de desorción térmica, tratamiento físico químico de efluentes industriales y almacenamiento previo en la planta.
A su vez, determina que dichos establecimientos acumulan cutting (lodos de perforación), flowback (agua de retorno del fracking) y los fondos de tanques, entre otros desechos.
Luego, detalla toda la normativa aplicable en materia de residuos peligrosos -generador y operador- y de responsabilidad -ambiental, objetiva, penal y solidaria-. En el marco de la responsabilidad solidaria informa que empresas como Exxon que “arrojan” sus residuos peligrosos en el establecimiento de Treater son responsables ante terceros por los daños producidos por esos residuos peligrosos, aun cuando hayan traspasado esos residuos a las empresas operadoras. En este sentido, alega la responsabilidad solidaria de las empresas petroleras aplicando el principio de la “cuna a la tumba”.
Translation - English The report drafted by Mr. ABC, from the Argentine Association of Environmental Lawyers, details the legal regulations applicable to AAA S.A.
That report states that in 2015, AAA, BBB and CCC were set up at the Ecopark in xxxx, Province of xxxx. Then, it states that AAA’s hazardous waste stockpiles are without any sort of shed or protection, and according to the company’s environmental records, the company performs thermal desorption processes, physicochemical treatment of industrial effluents, previously stored at the plant.
At the same time, it determines that these facilities accumulate cuttings (drilling muds), flowback (fracking water) and tanks’ bottom sludge, among other wastes.
It continues to detail all the applicable regulations in terms of hazardous wastes —generator and operator— and liability —environmental, strict, criminal, and joint and several. In the framework of joint and several liability, it claims that companies such as Exxon, that “dump” their hazardous wastes at Treater’s facility, are liable for the damage produced to third parties by those hazardous wastes, even when those wastes have been passed on to the waste management operators. In that sense, oil companies are alleged to be joint and severally liable under the “cradle to grave” principle.

Cascabel Copper-Gold JV Exploration Updates
OTTAWA – Cornerstone Capital Resources Inc. reported an update for the Cascabel copper-gold porphyry joint venture exploration project in northern Ecuador, in which the Company has a 15% interest financed through to completion of a feasibility study. Funded by joint-venture partner SolGold Plc and targeting porphyry copper-gold deposits, the Cascabel property in northern Ecuador has been the focus of a drilling campaign that produced results indicating the discovery of a large gold-enriched copper porphyry system.
Exploraciones Novomining S.A. (“ENSA”), an Ecuadorean company owned by SolGold and Cornerstone, hold 100% of the Cascabel concession.
HIGHLIGHTS: Hole 17 has intersected mineralization from 641.3 m and bornite and chalcopyrite copper sulphide mineralization from 816.2 m to 999.2 m depth, and is extending the surface footprint of the Alpala target 100 m southwest and 300 m closer to surface at this position; Hole 17 (CSD-16-017) was drilling at a depth of 999.2 m. Hole 17 is targeting shallow extensions of the Alpala deposit to the west, along the interpreted continuation of copper and gold mineralization intersected in Holes 1, 5 and 12, which returned the following intersections: Hole 1: 302m @ 0.39% Cu and 0.48 g/t Au (0.77% CuEq) from 16 m, including 100 m @ 0.65% Cu and 1.00 g/t Au (1.44% CuEq).
