Over two decades of experience.
Top Specialties: Literary translation. Art-related texts. Legal texts.
Published translator, writer, art critic, scholar, and poet - all in both languages.

I often respond to queries immediately, and in any event within twenty-four hours.
I am completely fluent in both languages (native speaker of English, extremely, unusually fluent in Russian), have lived for long stretches in both the US and Russia, have been published in both languages as a writer, poet, scholar and translator, and have taught both languages at major universities in both countries.
My experience is uniquely broad; I have published scholarly articles, essays, prose and poetry, and translations in both languages (please see the partial listing in the attached resume). For over twenty years, I have been professionally translating almost every conceivable kind of text, including a Nabokov novel for the Nabokov Foundation (English into Russian) and other artistic prose, laws, regulations and contracts, texts for TV shows, advertising copy, specifications for a refinery, and avant-garde verse.
I have a great deal of experience as an interpreter, as well. I was the lead interpreter for a team of US businesspeople negotiation with the City of St. Petersburg to introduce a city-wide parking program, and for another group negotiating for equipment sales with Gazprom in Moscow. I interpreted for Russia's largest literary prize at major US book fairs, publishing houses, etc. And I interpreted for Russian cultural figures and US guests and audience members as moderator of numerous literary readings, play talk-backs, art shows and other cultural events.
