Way Film specializes in supporting our customers' (pre)production and
distribution by way of translating, subtitling and related services.
Headed by producer, director and writer Matthew Way, Way Film is the
leading quality service provider in this section of the German-language
market.
After studying film and scriptwriting in the USA, Matthew started as a
professional film translator in Caracas, Venezuela in 1998. He then got a
Fulbright Scholarship and began work in Germany as a freelance
subtitler, translator and director of related services (e.g. dubbing).
In 2007 he founded his first company. Together with colleagues he has
processed countless movies from and into over 40 languages.
In 2015, Matthew founded Way Film Translation (now Way Film GmbH) in
Berlin. Its cooperation with Under The Milky Way (Europe's biggest
VOD-service) and Cinando/Marché Du Film (Cannes) was funded by the
European Commission from October 2015 until June 2017. Since then, Way
Film has continued our work on award-winning movies from Germany, Europe
and the rest of the world.
