Experience
Years of experience: 42. Registered at ProZ.com: Mar 2019.
I am a native speaker of US English who lived and worked in Japan for six years from 1988 to 1994. I was able to travel a lot while there, and visited a lot of southeast Asian countries.
Upon my return to the US, I started my interpreter/translator career with a Japanese automotive manufacturer in Portland, Indiana. The rest, they say, is history! I now have 30+ years in the automotive industry, working for various Japanese transplant automotive manufacturers, and one German. During this time I traveled to Europe as well.
I have had native Japanese people tell me that I am more Japanese than native Japanese people. I know their business practices, how they think, and basically, what they are going to say, before they say it. In document translation, I can do both Japanese to English, and English to Japanese.
I look forward to working with you on your projects!
