Letter of intent
I have nurtured an enduring fascination for the field of chemistry since my early years. This
passion culminated in a pivotal juncture during high school, where I was granted the auspicious
opportunity to initiate my foray into research endeavors at the tender age of 15. Guided under
the supervision of Dr. Nelson Stradiotto at the São Paulo State University (UNESP), I embarked
upon a transformative journey marked by dedicated exploration and scholarly growth.
Throughout my academic journey, I have developed a profound passion for electrochemistry and
its applications in addressing real-world challenges. Under the mentorship of Dr. McCord in 2020,
I had the privilege of contributing to research projects that significantly advanced our
understanding of electrochemical processes, specifically focusing on fentanyl redox processes
using screen-printed electrodes. This study demonstrates the development of analytical tools
with real social benefits, reinforcing my commitment to making meaningful contributions to this
field. My efforts have led me to publish three articles during my undergraduate studies and
present my research at international conferences and seminars.
During my final year in the pharmacy-biochemistry course at the University of São Paulo, I
became an enthusiast of analytical chemistry applications in Quality Control Units. I was hired to
work as a Quality Control Analyst at Eurofarma, the largest pharmaceutical company in Latin
America. At Eurofarma, I had the chance to collaborate on the technology transfer of the COVID-
19 vaccine from Pfizer. My responsibility as a focal point for Quality Control in this project was
to perform various analyses, lead meetings with a worldwide team, and provide technical
assistance.
The years I have been involved with the pharmaceutical industry encouraged me to pursue more
ambitious projects. I feel inspired by many, especially Dr. da Silva and Dr. Belluomini, who were
my first mentors and taught me the basics of electrochemistry. They not only emphasized the
importance of international collaboration in science but also demonstrated it by collaborating
with research groups abroad from Brazil.
