After finished my Surveying Engineering study from National Cheng Kung University in Tainan, Taiwan, I devoted myself into journalism, another favorite career I dreamt before. With both fluent Chinese and English talent, and engineering & science training, I am in charge of international news covering the advanced technologies news worldwide to my fellow citizen since 1988.
Through the experiences to help Siemens acquiring major project in public works in Taiwan since 1999, I gathered more technique to translate technical documents and specification. My expertise covered EMU details, E&M, IT, software localization, CNC, aerospace, chemical industry, medical care, and pharmaceutical industry etc.
Finally, basing upon enthusiasm and skills in the art, I created UANFONG TECH LTD., in Taichung, a beautiful city with warm climate in central Taiwan.

Chinese characters esp. Traditional Chinese (zhTW) is very different Simplified Chinese (zhCN).
http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese
And it is one of the most ancient characters with with wisdom of Chinese ancestors.
However, nowadays, not many people in the world, including Chinese themselves can tell these two existed Chinese character apart clearly. Not to mention the language provider in the non-Chinese world.
AG Aspen Global, powered by Uanfong Tech Ltd. is located in Taichung, Taiwan. We encounter many translation jobs into/from zhTW/zhCN from our client abroad.
We found an interesting issue: our clients often ask us to make the source language into "Traditional Chinese, more clever client will say zhTW", but the result makes us crazy.
Because, we find what the end-client desires actually is "zhTW in font, but culture in zhCN"!
e.g.:
The term "project 專案, means a specific plan", in mainland China they call "item 項目, meaning as the word".
"quality 品質, means good or bad of an object or process", in mainland China, they call "mass 質量, yes, means the mass of a weight".
When we ask the editors, most from mainland China and with the ability to read the zhTW, then how do you translate the EN terms "item, mass"?
Their answers make us crazy "項目、質量"!
And this is why many zhTW reader often find why the so called Traditional Chinese version in Google, facebook is so odd for a real TC reader.
Chinese Traditional is the heritage of Hua Xia culture and Chinese people, lasting for nearly 5,000 years. Every Chinese Traditional character contains its unique font, meaning, story and history. It is mainly used in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Chinese overseas...
While Chinese Simplified is produced by Communist Party in PROC in 1965. They simplified Chinese characters so that people can learn them more easily and quickly.
As a result, the font, meaning, and story in the Chinese simplified are changed or gone. Thus, Chinese Simplified is mainly used in China.
So, as an user of Traditional Chinese, I must say the TC/zhTW is really the best heritage of Hua Xia culture with nearly 5000-year wisdom. I create this page to invite you all who are interested in to/from Chinese translation, no matter you like or think which is better.
