Fishing industry including aquaculture provides employment to over 500 million people globally. It is also a stable source of potential job opportunities for translators. With growing fishing industry and international trade of fish products the involvement of translators whose services are constantly required in different sectors of this industry also increases.

This webinar is an updated version of the webinar "Translating for Fishing Industry". In this webinar, the trainer who has more than 30 years of experience in fishery translation will provide an overview of modern trends in fisheries and aquaculture and their significance for translators.

The skills and tools required for a good fishery translator will be discussed.

The trainer will speak about the modern-day terminology challenges of a fishery translator and how to deal with them.

The potential clients and how to be connected with them will be discussed.

This session can be interesting and useful to those who are making their first steps in fishery translation but also to those who specialize in fishery transaltion but understand the value of learning from others' experience. You are all very welcome!

How do I access the online platform?

72 hours before the webinar takes place, you will receive an invitation to join the session. Please, click the registration link or button provided in the invitation email and complete the registration form.

Important: Those that purchase a seat in advance may be able to pay an "early bird" or cheaper price, and those that confirm participation later or last minute, may likely get to pay a higher fee. In some training sessions a price increase based on the number of registrants may also apply, i.e. the first 15 registered pay one price, the next 10 pay a a slightly higher price etc.

Early payment is advised in order to secure participation and help reach the course minimum participation - unfortunately, courses may occasionally be cancelled or rescheduled, if the confirmed participation in advance is very low.

Bio: Anneta Vysotskaya graduated the English Department of the Far Eastern State University (Vladivostok, Russia) in 1983. After working for one year as a school teacher she was invited to join the staff of the Scientific Information Department of the Institute of Marine Biology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She worked there for 20 years reaching the position of a leading translator. Her main expertise is in environmental, fisheries, food, health, medical and business translation. In 2004, she moved with her family to New Zealand and had to start as a freelance translator and interpreter practically from zero. She translated for many clients from all over the world. She also works as a community interpreter since 2005.

Аннета Высоцкая закончила отделение английской филологии Дальневосточного государственного университета в 1983 году. Около 20 лет работала штатным переводчиком в Институте биологии моря и журнала "Биология моря", в том числе ведущим переводчиком, а также переводила для других научных учреждений Российской академии наук. Выполняла переводы для Торгово-промышленной палаты. Она специализируется в переводе в области охраны природы, биологии, рыбного хозяйства, здравоохранения, медицины, пищевой промышленности, а также имеет большой опыт перевода во многих других областях. Неоднократно была переводчиком на международных научных конференциях. С 2004 году проживает в Новой Зеландии, активно работает переводчиком-фрилансером, оказывая переводческие услуги для клиентов в разных странах мира. С 2005 года занимается устным переводом в больницах и других учреждениях Новой Зеландии. С 2005 года занимается устным переводом в социальной сфере.

The minute I saw this I tried to apply.
The price, however, is now 33 euros, which is considerably more.
Please advise as tow which is the correct price as I would really like to attend.
