I set up my own translation business in 2010. It is called Begonia Translations because begonia cuttings quickly take root, then flower when transplanted to new soil - like me when I moved to Australia in 1995. A native Dutch speaker and fluent English speaker with NAATI accredition as a Professional Translator English to Dutch, I have worked in environmental science for Australian government agencies since 1995. Since 2010 I work part-time as a translator and part-time as an environmental scientist. In 2016 a book that I translated, Over Groei en Vorm door D'Arcy Thompson, was published in Dutch by Meromorf Press. In March 2017 an event was held in Amsterdam celebrating the centennial of the original book, and the launch of the Dutch translation.

In January 2019 the Dutch translation De weg naar de werkelijkheid, by Roger Penrose was published, again by Meromorf Press.
