Assessing healthcare is particularly critical during studies that utilize an observational, passive healthcare facility-based surveillance design as disease incidences are strongly influenced by substantial variations in healthcare seeking behavior patterns. The adjustment of disease estimates for variations in healthcare utilization may result in the reflection of the true disease burden caused by a broad spectrum of bacterial, fungal, viral, or parasitic pathogens among the population under investigation.
Translation - French L’évaluation de l’utilisation des soins de santé est un facteur important pour générer des estimations plus précises du fardeau de la maladie d’une population cible. L’évaluation des soins de santé est particulièrement cruciale pour les études qui utilisent un protocole de surveillance passive et observationnelle basée sur les établissements de soins de santé puisque les incidences de la maladie sont fortement influencées par les variations substantielles des modèles de comportements de recherche de soins de santé. Source text - English In this paper, I first provide a brief snapshot of the broader context of the Haitian educational system into which these interventions would be introduced, then synthesize the findings of the four papers and discuss how these findings compare with actual domestic and international investments in education. Finally, I argue that turning promise into outcomes relies heavily on the quality of implementation, and that these cost-benefit analyses should be combined with realistic assessments of implementation feasibility in order to prioritize investments.
Translation - French Dans cet article, je présente d'abord un bref aperçu du contexte plus large du système éducatif haïtien dans lequel ces interventions seraient introduites, puis je synthétise les résultats des quatre articles et étudie la façon dont ces résultats peuvent être comparés aux investissements nationaux et internationaux réels dans l'éducation. Enfin, je soutiens que le fait de passer des promesses aux résultats dépend largement de la qualité de la mise en œuvre et que ces analyses avantages-coûts devraient être combinées avec des évaluations réalistes de la faisabilité de la mise en œuvre afin de hiérarchiser les investissements.

Source text - English What is an example of a nanoscale device that makes a difference in our daily lives?
There are applications that utilize nanomaterials such as nanoparticles, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and Quantum Dots (QDs) but not at the nanoscale. For example, many printed electronics as well as organic photovoltaics utilizes nanomaterials using printing or roll-to-roll process. In addition, some large LCDs have already utilized QDs to display bright colors. However, all of these are low end application of nanomaterials. Once scalable high-rate nanoscale printing becomes available, then we will see a paradigm shift in the use of nanoscale devices produced with nanomaterials.

Il existe des applications qui utilisent des nanomatériaux telles que les nanoparticules, les nanotubes de carbone (carbon nanotubes — CNT) et les points quantiques (Quantum Dots — QD), mais pas à l'échelle nanométrique. Par exemple, beaucoup de dispositifs électroniques imprimés, ainsi que des dispositifs photovoltaïques organiques, utilisent des nanomatériaux grâce à l'impression ou à un processus rouleau-à-rouleau.
