English to Italian: ART General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Source text - English Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.
In their most general form these activities include the production of works of art, the criticism of art, the study of the history of art, and the aesthetic dissemination of art.
The oldest documented forms of art are visual arts, which include creation of images or objects in fields including today painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and other visual media.
Music, theatre, film, dance, and other performing arts, as well as literature and other media such as interactive media, are included in a broader definition of art or the arts.
In modern usage after the 17th century, where aesthetic considerations are paramount, the fine arts are separated and distinguished from acquired skills in general, such as the decorative or applied arts.
Art may be characterized in terms of mimesis (its representation of reality), narrative (storytelling), expression, communication of emotion, or other qualities.
The nature of art and related concepts, such as creativity and interpretation, are explored in a branch of philosophy known as aesthetics.

Bio
Who I am
I’m an
italian mother tongue born and based in northern Italy who translates from
English to Italian.
My
relationship with the English language is a very long one: it started when I
was a child and got more serious from the early teenage when I got more into
international music and cinema.
Reading content about my favourite bands and actors and translating it in
Italian soon became my obsession and it never left me, as well as the dream of
being able, one day, to translate tv shows and movies. I can still be found
roaming online music and movie communities and engaging in discussions with
other fans.
But, of
course, none of this could have been possible without a specific academic
training.
My High
School diploma as Operator for tourism services led me to the University of
Milan where I got a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Languages and Modern Cultures.
In the
following years I have focused more on translation studies attending multiple
training courses regarding both technical and editorial fields that improved my
skills and as a very curious person I’m always looking for new ways to broaden
my knowledge and specializations.
So far I have translated different types of documents, such as: business correspondence, interviews, treatments and other pre production material for the movie industry, brochures, product descriptions for e-commerce, crowdfunding campaigns and press releases. I have subtitled and performed linguistic QC on entertainment products for Netflix and other streaming platforms.
This is how I do Business
Precision, accuracy and meeting deadlines are things I really care about.
I always do my best to meet my clients' demands and sometimes it may take me an extra email, or two.
I think a clear and honest email exchange is at the core of any professional relationship and it's something I value very much. It saves everyone's precious time.
Being passionate about what I do is a key factor to me. I always do my best to avoid poorly written content and dialogues.
I'm that kind of person who accidentally happens to grammar check subtitles while watching a movie on Netflix.
I don't do MTPE unless it's fairly paid.
