Bio
I’m an Italian mother tongue. I live in Brussels, Belgium, since August 2023.
Since I was a teenager, I worked at my
family's souvenir shop at the touristic venue of Rifugio
Sapienza on the Etna volcano, in Italy. There my passion for foreign
languages developed, so I decided I would widen my knowledge of them.
I studied English and Spanish translation at
the University of Catania. I attended an internship at the UniversidaddeGranada in Spain,
concerning literarytranslation. Then I attended my second internship, at the UniversityofSurrey, United
Kingdom, concerning translation, terminologystudies, subtitling and sectoriallanguages.
In 2000 I obtained my University
Degree in Translation and Interpreting. I had the opportunity to be an
interpreter and to translate for journalists that came to the
Etna volcano during eruptions, acquiring skills and competences
in geological and volcanological fields. Thanks
to the strong touristic vocation of the place where I grew up,
I acquired much experience in this field. I also worked as a hotelreceptionist,
and I translated menus for typical restaurants. I
had the great pleasure of translating a book dedicated to the
Etna volcano.
I also worked in the electronics field,
translating user manuals and booklets about it.
I am interested in mindfulness, wellness and holisticarts,
so I worked in those fields too, translating a website on taijiquan and another one on yoga.
I worked for 5 months at SEO
(Search Engine Optimization), translating for the blog La mente es maravillosa, concerning
neurosciences, psychology and literature.
I have attended a professional course for
translators on medical translation, another one on commercial women’s
fiction, and another one on inclusive writing.
I am very experienced in translating, editing and proofreadingsoftware and geomapping texts,
as well as apps and websites software manuals.
I believe quality is
prior and I like to establish a relationship based on mutual trust with
my clients. I respect the agreed delivery time
and specific requests, offering the required flexibility.
In translation, a craft that I define
an art, the keys to success are attentionto every detail and
a good amount of passion, and I offer them both!
