Certifying a translation. When required, I usually add the following text: "I, [my name] of [NAME OF COMPANY] hereby certify that this is a true and accurate translation of a …….. page document given me by [NAME OF CLIENT]
On behalf of [MY NAME OF COMPANY], Registered Office [ADDRESS] Registered company no XXXXX. VAT No
Signed .................................………..... Date ............................."
Sometimes, there is not enough space to add the text so I add a code to each page and initial each one. I then produce a letter "I, [MY NAME], of [NAME OF COMPANY] hereby certify that the translations of two documents from [LANGUAGE] into [LANGUAGE], comprising X pages and given me by [NAME OF CLIENT] are a true and accurate translation of documents supplied on [DATE]. Each page carries the unique code XXXXXXX and is signed by me. Original documentation may be obtained from:
[MY NAME and ADDRESS]
Signed .................................………..... Date ............................."
Can anyone tell me if this is acceptable practice?
