Thank you very much again for offering the above-mentioned session.
Please allow me to make the following points about the training.
It was very easy to follow the trainer. The pace was very good. The brakes were very well placed. The visual and audio quality was also very good. The only thing I would recommend is that maybe it would be possible in a future session to spend a little less time on the very basic features/examples of Trados and to concentrate a bit more on the more advanced features/examples, as time was running out towards the end and as I found myself faced with a couple of questions during the exam, that were definitely not treated in the training session. Unfortunately, answers for these questions were also not to be found in the manual provided with the session.
Nevertheless, I found the training helpful and have already booked for the intermediate and advanced part of Trados 2009.
"The session was really helpful in getting started. And becoming more confident in working with the programm. What I missed was how to create a multi term database, but I guess that is covered in an advanced course.
I tried to allign a document that I translated last year and create a TM from it yesterday and it worked! I am very happy :-). Thank you Charlie."
"Unfortunately there was a little problem with the SDL trados 2009 program and we could not see how it works adding terms to a termbase while translating, which I was very interested in seeing how to do it. In general, the session program had a good content of all the practical issues we need to get started but indeed the software has a lot of features that will take more time and practice to learn. The trainer answered the questions the best way according to how he understood the question in the panel questions, but I feel it would have been useful to somehow be able to interact instantly with him to further explain one's question in case it was not very clear the first time."
"There's no coursebook that you can download in case you can practice alone or consult when you have doubts. The content is a little poor and the explanation was somewhat messy"
"The course was good, thank you Charlie. Helpful to feel more confident with Trados 09. However, I am so far unable to access the course material. The links to SDL lead me to a page where I need to purchase the exam, I cannot find the material."
"....***** (five stars) !!!!
Questions to Trainer: I have followed GETTING STARTED handbook explicitly, yet in the exercise provided 100% matches are coming up, BUT partial (fuzzy) matches are NOT identified. What SETTINGS do I need to adjust and...HOW?
Please advise.......thanks UEF"
"I was somewhat disappointed that I did not receive the link for downloading the Pre-Training Materials ahead of time in order to review them and follow the practice along with the Instructor during the session."
Trados Studio 2009 did not make a good impression in this webinar, due to technical problems"
