I grew up in France and Algeria before coming to England at the age of nine. Since my parents are Algerian and English I was brought up bilingual in French and English. The majority of my schooling has been in English.

I have both a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration, and started my professional career in 1999. I have 20+ years of professional management experience having worked as an engineer at Honeywell, a management consultant at McKinsey, and a senior manager in the Pharmaceutical industry. My advanced language skills were a key determinant in acquiring those roles. I was staffed in France and the UK and was required to converse with colleagues and clients, and to write business reports and client presentations in both languages. Clients included major institutions such as Peugeot, Arcelor-Mittal, Valeo, Saint Gobain amongst others. During that time I translated thousands of pages of business reports and presentations and technical documents from French to English and vice versa as a part of my day job. Many of these documents would have been presented to the highest levels of the organisation.

I have expert knowledge in operational improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma, as well as in strategic management and marketing. My sector knowledge is wide ranging since I have consulted across most industry verticals from automotive to TMT and healthcare/pharmaceuticals.

I have also taken part in cycling, running and triathlon at an Elite level having won silver at World Amateur Duathlon Championships and Ironman events. This passion for health and fitness is also backed up by professional qualifications as a personal trainer and triathlon coach, and I am very well versed in the language and terminology of sports in French and English.

I have formalised my translation skills with DipTrans exams from the IoL, by using SDL Trados, and through multiple professional translation assignments.
