Handling PDF Files
“I work with the owners and programmers of Infix (.pdf editor) on the identification of bugs or improvements to be made, especially to the tool that exports text from a .pdf file for translation in a CAT tool before importing the translation back into the original .pdf to produce a final document that resembles the original to a very high degree.”
At the moment (Jan. 2014), we are running the tool on a 65,000 word .pdf for a client where the text is delivered to MemoQ before being exported back to Infix.
This project also needs a good understanding of MemoQ xml filters and the interface between the two tools.

Translation - English Social capital of family firms and organisational efficiency: theoretical proposals for a transmission model through the channel of bureaucratic costs
Family businesses are the oldest form of business organisation in the history of economics (Gersick et al. 1997; Bienaymé, 2009). This type of organisation continues to hold a key place in all economies (IFERA, 2003; Chrisman et al., 2004; Fogel, 2006; Combs et al., 2010; Nordqvist and Melin, 2010; Sharma and Sharma, 2011). However, statistics also show that many family businesses disappear, when they are not simply absorbed by large, non-family firms or forced to change their status to non-family businesses (Lin and Hu, 2007; Litz, 2008). Lester and Cannella (2006) argue that the lifespan of family firms is far from smooth: two-thirds fail in the transition to the second generation, their growth rate is low, they often display vulnerability and inertia when it comes to decision-making, and they can easily be victims of predatory managers or subject to high agency costs.

Translation - English Mr. President of France,
The letter that you sent to the Justice Minister has come to my notice. I am contacting you again after having already sent you our communiqué dated Wednesday 26 January 2011 via your press officer. As you, I am both shocked and horrified, Mr President!
Firstly, I am appalled by the populist use that you wish to make of this terrible drama, … the tragic death of a young girl in circumstances still unclear but presumably shocking!
Secondly, I am very surprised that you should finally take interest whether it is to credit or discredit the judicial institution: « It therefore seems to me indispensable to bring to light all the dysfunctions which bring the judicial system into disrepute. »

My dear rodent friend, you are the shrewdest of Chinese animals. You have imagination, you're a perfectionist and you prefer to go it alone, because if you want something done properly, it's best to do it yourself. When your (immense) talent is not enough to guarantee success, you know how to get others to eat out of your hand while thinking that they have invited themselves to the table. Your reputation as a bit of a calculator is only equaled by your thirst for passion and true love; in fact, at heart, you’re just a big sentimentalist!
Your natural stable element is water, which compensates for your natural individualism and makes you a better listener. Paradoxically, without your aquatic factor, you would be a ...water rat!

HIGH WATER LINE
PEDAGOGICAL OBJECTIVES FOR THE SESSIONS FROM 17 - 19 MAY 2007
The objectives have several aspects:
- To allow the students to acquire a good understanding of the problems associated with erosion and their interpretation at a national level, at town level, as well as from an architectural and a public space point of view. This first point is the principal object of the workshops of 15 and 16 May (conferences and discovery of the sites),
- To verify empirically the validity and the limits of the anti-erosion measures presented previously. For this, an on-site (place de Malo-les-Bains) hands-on practical is proposed.
- To research on-site using the same empirical approach innovative or more efficient procedures and/or to develop other strategies when faced with erosion (to manage it rather than to combat it for example).
- To show the possible implications of these methods simultaneously at a national level, at town level, as well as from an architectural and a public space standpoint. From this point of view, the measures taken and the devices put into place on the coastline constitute either models or prototypes of proposed solutions.
- T create an on site event, based on local usage of the site. The countryside dimension of the workshop does not only reside in its subject matter, but also in its tangible effect: the effective provisional management of a beach on the northern coastline.
- Finally, to develop a spirit of cooperation between the students, transcending as much as possible the disciplines, countries and cultures from which the students have come. There is also a reflexion to be made on the beach as a dissolution of borders

Translation - English Abstract
This paper presents a 60-GHz millimeter-wave antenna fabricated with a wafer-scale packaging technology. A feeding network is designed in a coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed aperture on GaAs substrate. The radiating patch is realized in a 0-level packaging cavity using a glass substrate with a low dielectric constant. The circular polarization is achieved by an inclined coupling slot to the boundary of the square radiating patch. A 45° inclination enables the splitting of the dominant resonant mode into two near-degenerate orthogonal modes for circular polarization radiation. A finite-element-method (FEM)-based 3-D full-wave electromagnetic solver, CST Microwave Studio, is used for the design simulations. Typical numerical simulations and experimental results of the antenna performance are presented and discussed.

Re: Enforceability of a foreign judgement
THE COURT OF APPEAL DECISION
The Court of Appeal rejects XXX's application that a judgement given by the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, High Court of Justice, British Virgin Islands, on the 04 April, 2012 regarding case number BVICH (COM) 019 OF 2012 between the applicant, XXX and the defendant, XXX, see annex A, shall be applicable in Sweden.
THE APPLICATION BEFORE THE COURT OF APPEAL
By judgement of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, High Court of Justice, British Virgin Islands, 04 April 2012, XXX were ordered to pay XXX a principle sum and costs. The judgement was declared enforceable in England on the 01 June 2012 by the High Court of Justice, Queen's Bench Division.
XXX subsequently demanded that the judgement should also be deemed to be enforceable in Sweden, based on the English declaration of enforceability.
THE COURT OF APPEAL DECISION
A stipulation for a foreign ruling to be declared enforceable in Sweden by application of the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 44/2001 (Brussels I) is that the ruling is made in a member state. The ruling under discussion was given in the British Virgin Islands. The conditions set by the COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No 44/2001 (Brussels I) are therefore not fulfilled. The fact that the ruling was declared enforceable in another member state, namely England, does not give rise to an alternative interpretation (see Pälsson, the Brussels Convention, the Lugano Convention and Brussels I, "Jurisdiction and the Enforcement of Judgments in Civil and Commercial Matters for EU and EFTA member states". 1:2 ed., 2002, p 236).
RIGHT TO APPEAL
This decision may be appealed by XXX within one month of notice. The appeal must be in writing and lodged with the appeal court.

I augusti 1961 öppnade Gustaf Mattsson Optisk Ritbyrå.

From Lödöse via Uddevalla to Shanghai.
Gustaf Mattsson grew up in Lödöse where, at the age of 15, he began to work at the local shipyard. After studying to become an engineer as well as working for some time at Eriksbergs Mekaniska Verkstad [Shipbuilders, Engineers and Repairers], Gustaf moved North. Gustaf had found employment with Gustaf B. Thordén at the Uddevalla shipyard and as a skillful draughtsman, he slowly worked his way up to being the head of the drawing offices.
After 12 years at the Uddevalla shipyard, Gustaf took the leap and started his own firm. In August 1961, Gustaf opened Mattsson Optisk Ritbyrå [Drawing Consultancy]. In a single effort, the corner stone had been laid for what was to become today, some 50 years later, the Mattsson Group.
UFAB was set up from one of LM Ericsson's workshops that closed in 1968. From that very day, the company has gone from strength to strength acquiring more and more customers over the years. Even the customer database has been extended to cover new sectors such as offshore, medicine, aeronautics, agricultural equipment, wind power and energy.
In 2000, the company set up its own construction department to extend its range of services.
To further consolidate its offer and to meet market demand, UFAB Shanghai was set up in 2010 with its own metalworking and assembly plant.
In 2012, the two UFAB companies owned by the Mattsson Group merged together with Junoverken under the name of UFAB.
As part of the merger plan, the new company has made a great effort to increase brand awareness, give greater visibility to and to fully modernize its production units with the introduction of clear work flows and structural improvements to better serve you, our customers.
This background strategy and its resulting policy mean that we can always live up to our company slogan- Always Improve.
