Hello,
My name is Joanna and I grew up in France, Lebanon, and the United States.
I have a BA in Film Studies from the Sorbonne University in Paris, an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles, and most importantly, an MA in editorial, economic and technical translation, with honors, from the prestigious ESIT in Paris (French-English-Arabic). I started off my career as a translator at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where I honed my translation skills in international relations. As a freelancer, I have broadened my expertise to include other fields that I love and am particularly familiar with. I work with film production companies, international organizations, non-profit foundations, private individuals and researchers.
These fields include but are not limited to:
- film and TV: film-related content (such as reviews or research papers), film scripts (for international co-productions) and subtitling (feature-length films, short films, documentaries, TV shows. I am very familiar with the specs of most platforms and networks).
- social sciences: university research papers and books on topics ranging from education, psychology, psychopathology, immigration, religion;
- the environment: proposals and research papers on renewable energies, water management, waste management;
- agriculture: agroforestry, forest gardening, permaculture, winemaking and oenology;
- arts: dance, fashion (website translation), fine arts (reviews).
I love learning and am always open to explore new paths.
No matter what I am working on, I guarantee you maximal accuracy, a beautiful and fluid writing style, a highly professional behavior, and a strict observance of deadlines.
