Translation - English This is a new field in the world of aerial arts. Although it is not exactly known how and when this discipline first emerged, people agree that it is part of a field of acrobatics performed using ropes. On one hand, silks derived from the Indian acrobatic practice of using ropes; on the other hand, it borrows elements from the changes brought about by aerial artists using the cords of the trapeze. The desire to develop this specific technique had its origins in France, starting in the 80s.
The silk is made of synthetic fabric (generally sports acetate or jersey acetate) and hangs at a height of at least 13 feet. Climbing the fabric, the acrobat makes various poses starting with certain “basic skills” that provide support and safety for different parts of the body. The silk can be hung different ways taking into account the structural and safety mechanisms that will support it. Knowledge of basic knots is important so the configuration is secure and doesn’t damage the fabric.
Spanish to English: Recolección y composición de látex recién extraído
Translation - English Rubber is extracted from a tree through a systematic process known as “tapping” that consists of making an angular cut across the bark of the tree to the cambium. A small pot is hung from the trunk of the tree to collect the latex, a milky fluid that flows slowly from the cut in the tree. Latex contains 30 to 36% rubber hydrocarbon, 0.30 to 0.7% ash, 1-2% proteins, 2% resin, and 0.5 quebrachitol. The make up of the latex varies in each part of the tree; generally the percentage of rubber hydrocarbon decreases from the leaves and branches down to the trunk. The time of year also affects the composition of the latex, as well as the make up of the forest floor, tree line, and species of tree. Rubber is an irreversible secretion of the tree and the more that is secreted the more the tree produces. Rubber is produced in the protoplasm by biochemical reactions of polymerization, caused by enzymes acting as catalysts.

Translation - English My dearest Ani:
I don’t have much to tell you, after reading the letters you will find out everything and I won’t have to repeat anything.
I don’t know if you received those from last month or before that. I want you to write me at the house letting me know at least that you receive them and that you will share them along with your other thoughts on the matter. You will see in them that there are some names. Tell Humberto not to be afraid to share them because if we do it, it’s because we feel it’s right and should be this way. As you will see, this is the last one that I will write today because it’s already late, I am rather tired and tomorrow is the visit.
Write me two letters and tell me.
Send my thoughts to everyone during the Christmas holidays.
Your brother sends kisses and loves you.

Bio
As the child of a Spanish-speaking mother who loved to travel, I started traveling to Spain and Mexico at a very young age. It wasn't until college that I started studying Spanish in earnest, earning a double major in Spanish and English and participating in various summer study abroad programs in Spain. After a 20-year career teaching Spanish at the high school level and developing content for online Spanish courses, I decided to earn a Masters in Translation Studies. Although I have strong language skills, I wanted to learn the methodology behind translation and how I can use those methods to create high-quality translations for my clients. I specialize in the translation of educational materials, such as e-learning content, and human resources materials. I also have experience transcribing video content and creating subtitles.
