Friends and viewers hello and thank you for joining us tonight for “The World of Farming”, I’m Yang Lu. King oyster mushrooms (Chinese name: “xingbaogu” – apricot-abalone mushrooms) also known as “ciqinci’er” are a valuable type of edible mushroom, used for food as well as medicine, that have started being cultivated in recent years with great success.
King oyster mushrooms have a thick body with a soft texture and can be used in their entirety, especially their white stems which are dense and tough. They have a pleasant, apricot-like smell and have a tough texture like an abalone with stems that are more fragile, smooth, and delicious than their caps, therefore earning them their name as the king of oyster mushrooms or “ganbeigu” (scallop mushrooms). Today we’re ready to show you around an edible fungi plantation. The king oyster mushrooms there have completely switched to factory cultivation.

They seek the well-being of their industries through bringing people of similar businesses together; strengthening co-operation and increasing the benefits of competition between them; and guiding them in increasing their ties overseas.
This year, the Hong Kong Pavilion’s Creative Corner chose “Multimedia” as its title, focusing on introducing books and printed materials which combine with various other types of media and technology, as well as displaying successful examples of Hong Kong’s publishing and printing industries’ use of VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) as well as other creative technologies.

The Yogurt Pot Fairy Organization and the Yogurt Pot Fairy Association have a contract in place: Before a yogurt has been eaten by a human, the yogurt pot is mutually owned by both human beings and fairies alike. After the yogurt is eaten, the empty yogurt pot will forever return to yogurt pot fairy ownership.
Every time a human being eats a yogurt, there is a yogurt pot fairy secretly watching from somewhere nearby. It will wait until the exact moment that you’ve finished your yogurt, and then excitedly crawl down the straw or through the open lid and into the yogurt pot as fast as it can.
First, the fairy will clean up any leftover yogurt and make sure that the inside of the pot is spick and span – it’ll let out the yogurt-cleaning puppy dog that it carries everywhere, and let it run once around the yogurt pot. The happy puppy will clean the four corners at the top and the four corners at the bottom, and maybe even more.
Why would a yogurt pot have more than eight corners, you might ask? Well, because some yogurt pots are round, and some are even house-shaped, or hexagonal. These yogurt-cleaning puppies will scoop up all the yogurt that the humans didn’t eat into their own bellies. Having done this, the yogurt pot fairy now has its very own sparkling clean yogurt pot.
