Source text - English The fall in expenditure appears to have caught producers by surprise, leading to a build-up in inventories. Unemployment has begun to rise and surveys point to continued layoffs, especially in manufacturing. Industrial and manufacturing production declined for the fifth straight months and the manufacturing PMI survey plunged to its lowest level since the survey began in 1992. Other industrial surveys point to similar weakening and even lower investment intentions. Retail sales volume rose in August but are still down on a 3-month over 3-month basis. Consumer confidence has found a bottom, at least for the moment, with overall confidence and purchasing intentions rising off their lows but still down substantially. The housing market only has bad news to tell, unless you are looking to buy property cheaply as prices continue to fall and the build-up in the stock of homes for sale still outstrips the number sold. Weakening demand is not yet bringing any relief for the Bank of England as CPI inflation accelerated to 4.8% on the year and core continues to creep up. Rates remained on hold in September but the recent decline in key data, combined with the credit turmoil, may make it very hard for the Bank to avoid embarking on a series of rate cuts in spite of inflation well above target.

La produzione industriale e quella manifatturiera sono in calo da ormai cinque mesi consecutivi e l’indice Pmi manifatturiero è precipitato al livello più basso mai raggiunto dal 1992, data d’inizio dello studio stesso. Altri studi industriali indicano un indebolimento analogo e una propensione all'investimento addirittura inferiore. Ad agosto il volume delle vendite al dettaglio è salito, tuttavia è ancora basso se considerato sulla base di un unico trimestre. La fiducia dei consumatori ha trovato un limite, almeno per il momento, e sebbene i livelli di fiducia complessiva e propensione all’acquisto siano in crescita rispetto ai picchi negativi, restano sostanzialmente bassi. Non consola il panorama offerto dal mercato immobiliare, a meno che non si abbia intenzione di acquistare una proprietà a basso costo: i prezzi continuano infatti a scendere e il numero delle case in vendita rimane superiore a quello delle case vendute. La flessione della domanda non offre per ora alcun sollievo alla Bank of England, in quanto l’inflazione del CPI (indice dei prezzi al consumo) ha subito un’accelerazione pari al 4,8% annuo e l’inflazione inerziale prosegue nella sua lenta salita. I tassi sono rimasti stabili nel mese di settembre ma il recente ribasso degli indici, unito alla crisi del credito, potrebbe rendere difficile per la Bank evitare di imbarcarsi in una serie di tagli dei tassi, malgrado un’inflazione ben oltre il target.

Source text - French A l'heure de l'effondrement financier planètaire, 100 ans après le lancement du premier manifeste des avant-gardes artistiques par le futuriste Marinetti, qui voulait tuer le clair de Lune, je suspends mon site Internet, pour au moins 100 jours.
Unique geste qui me semble actuellement pouvoir résonner avec les bruits de ce monde.
Si les contradictions esthètiques et non guerrières de Marinetti ont influencé jusqu'aux arts numériques contemporains, la force de sa simultanéïté artistique ne saurait être totalement la même comme le souligna, l'ami du peintre Mondrian, Michel Seuphor, après le désastre de la Shoah.
Pourtant, entre ma présence en Sorbonne pour les 80 ans du Futurisme lors de la conférence du bruitiste Jean-Marc Vivenza et les attentats du 9/11 aux USA, je m'étais engagé dans l'analyse des néo-avant-gardes historiques pour un autre futur, entre « Art - Vie - Action ».
Avec le nouveau siècle, j'ai tenté d'inscrire des collaborations pour délimiter d'autres modes d'apparitions, par un tryptique opératoire entre « Architecture – Image - Technologie ».
Parce que les écoles, les salles de spectacle et les musées ne sont plus le cadre des temps présents.
Le saut en parachute fut, par exemple, ma plus belle expérimentation comme installation performative.
C'était en tant que volontaire, pour partir défendre la paix dans les troupes aéroportées françaises en ex-Yougoslavie.
Quand la guerre est paix, le bruit est silence !
Rien, ni personne, sauf un écran silencieux comme seul festival face à une actualité désastreuse.
En hommage aussi à Galilée qui fut le premier à observer le ciel dès 1609, à travers une lunette astronomique, je me positionne, non pas derrière 400 ans d'évolution technologique mais juste derrière 100 jours silencieux, sur le réseau des réseaux.
Le monument inédit de l'architecte Alberto Sartoris en hommage à Marinetti, avec l'autorisation de ses ayant-droits à l'EPFL en Suisse, illustre virtuellement ma page Internet.

A mio avviso l'unico gesto in grado di squarciare l'assordante rumore di questo mondo.
Se le contraddizioni estetiche, ma non belliche, di Marinetti hanno esercitato un'influenza tale da estendersi fino alle arti digitali contemporanee, la forza della sua simultaneità artistica non si rivelò capace di rispecchiarle appieno, come sottolineò Michel Seuphor, l'amico del pittore Mondrian, dopo la tragedia della Shoah.
Pertanto, nel periodo compreso tra la mia presenza alla Sorbona in occasione dell'ottantesimo anniversario futurista, la conferenza del rumorista Jean-Marc Vivenza e gli attentati dell'11 settembre contro gli Stati Uniti, mi ero impegnato nell'analisi delle neoavanguardie storiche per un altro futuro in relazione al trinomio «Arte - Vita - Azione».
All'alba del nuovo secolo, ho tentato di introdurre delle collaborazioni che mi consentissero di circoscrivere altre modalità visive, attraverso un trittico di analisi costituito da «Architettura - Immagine - Tecnologia».
Perché le scuole, i teatri e i musei non sono più rappresentativi del nostro tempo.
Il lancio con il paracadute fu, nella fattispecie, il mio migliore esperimento di installazione performativa.
Sono partito come volontario per difendere la pace nelle truppe aviotrasportate francesi in ex Jugoslavia.
Quando la guerra significa pace, il rumore diventa silenzio!
Niente e nessuno, salvo uno schermo afasico come solitaria testimonianza posta di fronte a un'attualità catastrofica.
Offrendo il mio tributo anche a Galileo, che nel 1609 fu il primo uomo a osservare il cielo attraverso un cannocchiale, mi pongo non già dietro 400 anni di progressi tecnologici, bensì dietro 100 giorni di silenzio, sulla madre delle reti.
Il monumento inedito realizzato dell'architetto Alberto Sartoris come omaggio a Marinetti, con l'autorizzazione dei suoi aventi diritto presso l'EPFL in Svizzera, illustra virtualmente la mia pagina Internet.
