Nijen Company Ltd (“Nijen”) is an eco-friendly private company registered with Registration No. 155028076 and headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Nijen's core activities revolve around four thematic areas: translation services, research, consultancy, and data analysis. Its founders and employees have been involved in the above activities since 2009 as sole proprietors. Thus, in terms of experience, Nijen is not a 'new' firm but a by-product of founders’ quest to join forces and formalise their businesses to meet the ever-changing customers' needs.

Nijen offers translation and allied services (interpretation and transcription) to private individuals; commercial and non-commercial entities; and governmental and non-governmental organisations within and outside Tanzania. The company mainly focuses on Swahili-English-Swahili translation services. Nijen also offers translation services and arranges options in other source languages (Chinese, German, French, Spanish, and vernaculars spoken in East and Central Africa) on demand and subject to agreeable terms. Its translation services focus on commercial transactions, negotiations, public health, religion, literature, science and technology, linguistics, the entertainment industry (music and film industry), courts’ products (subject to ethical consideration), games and sports, and politics. Nijen's strength is that it builds on and goes beyond the computer-assisted translation tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Caption Maker, Mac Caption, Google Translator Toolkit, Mate Cat, Microsoft Office, Grammarly and SDL TRADOS.

Nijen positions itself as an arbiter of translation, interpretation and transcription of the languages in the East and Central African region. Nijen offers transcription services and oral interpretation of public or private meetings; conference proceedings at national, regional and international levels; seminar presentations; and proceedings before judicial and quasi-judicial bodies.
