I graduated from Complutense University in 1989 with a degree in English Language (Filología Inglesa). Shortly after, I went to live in the UK for three years. During that time I completed a course in Community Interpreting (legal option) and was awarded the corresponding diploma by the Institute of Linguists. Back in Spain I took a University Master’s Degree in Institutional Translation.
When I returned to Spain I started to work as a translator/interpreter for the public administration as a civil servant. Apart from working for the public administration, I have a great deal of experience in translating construction and project management documents due to contacts made through my husband, a British Chartered Surveyor.
I have also completed various translation and interpreting courses in Spain (Master in translation with distinction from Estudio Sampere; two year course in legal translation, from Estudio Sampere; Interpreting Course from Cluny University, etc). |
