I am a professional German-English translator and have been specializing in business and legal documents. I hold Bachelors degrees in both International Business and Marketing as well as a Doctorate in Law. I graduated New England Law and worked for the Manchester District Attorney in Manchester NH. My business and legal background has provided me with a familiarity of the documents needed to properly ensure accurate and precise translations. I possess excellent writing skills as well as a working knowledge of many local dialects, expressions and idioms. I've been translating for over 13 years, six years ago my work expanded to include proofreading and editing, and five years ago I began taking on video & audio transcriptions. Additionally I have been a certified Teacher of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) since 2004.

I am a native English speaker and US citizen. I moved from New York City to Heidelberg in 1987 and spent nearly 20 years in Germany while I studied, attended university, lived and worked. I moved back to the US as a full time resident in 2007 and since early 2012 have been dividing my time between the Boston/Manchester area and Munich. I've spent nearly half my life studying and working in Germany. I studied German at the Collegium Palatinum in Heidelberg after which I decided to stay in Germany to attended university. After graduation, I accepted a position in Munich in my chosen field of marketing. Before this I had various jobs ranging from waitress, to full time extra for movies and TV shows produced in Munich, and finally 4 years as a Tour Director, leading tours of varying lengths throughout all of Europe, Scandinavia and the UK, from the express overnights in Prague, to the 3 day Belgium, London, Amsterdam cruise to the10 day Capitals of Scandinavia tour)  While I've also traveled throughout all of Germany, the majority of my time has been spent in Heidelberg, Munich, Kiel and Hamburg.

While we work together you can expect a polished and professional product, on time and at a reasonable rate. I work well under pressure and am confident you will find yourself both impressed and satisfied with the end result. I normally produce between 2500 and 3000 words per day, sometimes more depending on the text. I will deliver your project to you, within the deadline, at a reasonable rate. Depending on the type or amount of text, rates can be negotiated (large volumes may qualify for lower rates), flat rates can also be arranged to make things simpler. In rare cases, when dealing with rush orders,  high output rush orders, pdfs containing graphs / tables or documents of simply poor quality, rates may be higher. But here I stress, these cases are rare.
