I have 18 years of experience in the Linguistic field, 12 of each in Localization.
Born and raised in France, I came to the United States to teach French in 1994, then got my MA in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies in 2000.
After getting my degree from the Monterey Institute, I worked for eBay Inc. for over 4 years as a French translator, 1 year at Ask.com as a Product manager for France, and 5 years as a French language specialist, then Localization Manager at Linden Lab, the makers of Second Life, in San Francisco.
As a translator, I specialize in software localization, and marketing materials, with an emphasis on games and e-commerce, but am very versatile and eager to learn new skills. I am proficient in Trados and have used Idiom in the past. In my last position, I led a team of translators as well as a Localization engineer, and was also managing a vendor to get Second Life products localized into 8+ languages. As a manager, I was responsible for creating and managing the budget.
As a project manager, I excel in delivering high quality localized content within the allotted time and within budget. I know what it takes to get the job done, and am a very dedicated professional. In addition to my training and experience in localization, I am also trained as an interpreter (consecutive and simultaneous from English into French).

In my spare time, I like to practice and teach yoga, cook, hike, sail, and raise my 2 1/2 year old daughter.
I have recently decided to become a freelance translator, and project manager and am looking forward to hear about your upcoming projects.
