Source text - Russian 1.4.15-6.
Translation - English 1.4.15-6. Automatic Control System of Oil Priming Pump
The automatic control system of the oil priming pump is meant for automatic cutout of the pump at the diesel engine start and automatic cut-in of the pump at diesel engine stop. When he diesel engine is stopped or is in operation, the system does not block the manual control of the pump, carried out with the help of buttons.
The system comprises the pump electric motor starter in which some switchings are performed and a pump control relay. The relay is connected through its inlet chamber to the diesel engine fuel system before the fuel fine filter and is connected to the starter circuit via the electric con-tacts.
Pic. 61 shows the control relay of the pump and a sample method of connecting the pump to the circuits of the DC starter. Such a connection implies, a jumper being removed in the starter between points (12) and (18). Connection of the relay to other facilities is done in accordance with the applicable documents.
The pump control relay consists of case 4 with three microswitches 27, 26 and 28 installed on stud 10; the microswitches are shown on the diagram as B1, B2 and B3, respectively. The microswitches and side members of strap 5 are tightened up by screw 29 and form a solid unit, which rotates freely on axle 9, and the micro- switches are pressed down by flat springs 8. The height adjustment of the unit is done with screw 6 which is screwed into strap 5 and which bears upon stop 3. Spacers 11 and 12, cover 13, membranes 1 and 2 and rigid centre 14 form a membrane unit with chamber A into which fuel is delivered. In the recess provided in case 4 stop 20 lies freely on rigid centre 14. Rocker arm 19 rests against the stop knife-edge and rocker arm 18 rests against rocker arm 19. Both the rocker arms move freely in one and the same plane in the slot of case 4; during their upward movement, they thrust against the buttons of microswitches Bl, B2 and B3. The shape of the rocker arms and the position of the rocker arms relative to the microswitches buttons are chosen so that during the upward movement of the entire movable system, the microswitches operate in succession B3-B2-B1, and during the downward movement, in the reverse succession. Cup 16 serves for changing the preloading of spring 17 during the adjustment of the relay, and is locked with ring 15« For smoothing the pressure pulsation, the fuel is delivered to the relay through a throttle consisting of body 21, pipe union 25, spacing rings 22, diaphragms 23, spring 24 and vessel 30.
