Bio
Native English translator. Translates from Spanish to British English.
Medical translations, specialising in pre-hospital care, primary care, minor health, minor injuries, first-aid, resuscitation and emergency medicine.
Also general medical and healthcare texts.

My love of Spanish started in 2000 after I decided to learn a second language. My hobby very quickly became an obsession and my passion. I then added some structured study to my learning so studied at GCSE then A-level and then finally with my degree, where I studied Advanced Spanish (C1). I have also studied in Spain as part of my continuing professional development. As part of my continuing professional development I listen to, watch, and speak Spanish on a daily basis, to ensure that I am continuingly improving my fluency and understanding of Spanish culture and current affairs.

Previous clinical work history: EMT, paramedic, paramedic Team Leader and then Clinical Advisor, having worked for ambulance services for 13 years, gaining valuable medical experience and knowledge, enabling me to translate medical documents from Spanish to English with ease. Before my career in the emergency services I worked as a legal secretary, where I gained vast experience in copy typing, transcription and touch-typing as well as becoming proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Most recently, I have worked as a Spanish tutor in adult education and have also have taught Spanish to Key Stage 2 children. Volunteer experience in translation and subtitling for TED talks, Coursera and Amara. 17 years' experience using the Spanish language.

Spanish language and culture is my passion and therefore I love my work and take pride in everything I do. I am an excellent researcher, using the necessary resources to enhance my translation work, ensuring quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
