I'm a native English speaker from the UK with eight years' experience translating, and work from Italian and Spanish into English. I lived in Spain for seven years and also spent one year in Italy. I have a background in dentistry, having worked as a dental surgery assistant for four years, with hands-on experience in general dentistry, conservation, endodontics, maxillofacial and oral surgery, and orthodontics, and hold the National Certificate for Dental Nurses from the UK. I gained a first-class BA in Translation Studies (Spanish-English) from Roehampton University in London after deciding to pursue my interest in languages, having also worked as an English teacher in both Spain and Italy. My translation experience has been focused on medical and pharmaceutical translation, which is my main specialisation, and within this field I regularly work with clinical research documentation, IFUs, SmPCs, PILs, pharmacovigilance and pharmaceutical manufacturing documents/SOPs, oncology and cardiology medical reports, as well as textbook content and articles for publication in international journals. I also regularly translate product brochures, web content and case study reports in dentistry, as well as having experience in business translation, particularly web content, company reports, policies, product brochures and manuals, within many commercial and industrial fields. I am committed to developing my translation skills, participating in ongoing training and self-study to broaden my knowledge. |
