Here is a couple of details about each of my specializations:
Gaming:
First of all I am a keen gamer who finds tons of joy playing all kinds of genres - from Android and browser minigames to huge titles. I immerse myself in the world appreciating every details. Linguistic details are my favourite and nothing ruins my day more than a poorly translated dialog or quest description. Polish is especially demanding language because of the cases and that must be treated with care.
My only experience in the field yet is an ongoing months-long translation project of Polish cRPG game.
I've also been playing Dungeons and Dragons, Warhammer and Cyberpunk role-playing games. Years of experience as a player and 2 years as Game Master expanded my imagination, comprehension of the worlds and gave me opportunities to brush up my vocabulary connected with the reality.
I am taking part in translating one of the expansion books for Warhammer as one of the leading translators.
Technical writing:
I've been working for one of the most recognized, leading producers of major appliances around the world since 2011. Being responsible for creating user manuals gave me the opportunity not only to understand the process but also to fully comprehend the idea of simplifying the language aiming for the customer friendly trait. My additional role of linguist specialist allowed me to influence on the manuals making them even more clear and easy-to-follow. Having to compare the languages I was able to track the typical problems occuring in the process of translation. That is why I am well prepared for translation any kind of technical language - espacially user manuals for major appliances.
Religion:
My religion speciality derives from my faith. I snapped in 2010 when I started searching for the answer. It was then I started working as a warehouseman in Catholic publishing house. Being exposed to all those books I started reading and understanding more and more. Once accumulated a serious amount of books I spent hours in silence, prayer and contemplation I started attending prayer groups. After those experiences I've grasped the concept of the topic and I'm ready to work in the field. |
