Translation Philosophy
Cultural and legal knowledge and context are essential for a truly accurate translation. A native speaker of English, I live in Miami––a city rich in Latin-American culture and linguistic diversity. For my M.A. in Latin American Studies, I conducted research, studied, and traveled in seven Spanish-speaking Latin American countries.
Experience
In addition, I have legal experience working with a non-profit law firm specializing in the immigration cases of children and families. As a translator and interpreter, I have over three years experience working directly with the United States federal government. All translations are for legal purposes, yet their content spans a range of specialization––from legal and financial reports on importation activities for a trade violation investigations to personal testimonies from rural Central America to prosecute war criminals, from arrest warrants to interrogation transcripts. My professional work serves the mission of justice.
