Bio
I am a freelance translator/terminologist and CELTA certified language teacher. I have special interest and certain professional background in human medicine.
I hold an MA in Education Entrepreneurship from Oulu University of Applied Sciences and an MD in Primary Care. I also received extensive training in intepretation/translation at SCIT, followed by internship at the UN Office in Geneva.
I spent some time doing residence in Human Pathology before joining the academic staff at St.Petersburg University, where I taught a course in consecutive interpretation for about a couple of years.
I also have five years' experience as an external translator at various international organizations, and employment history as a temporary staff translator/terminologist.
A lecture, workshop, or training session in human medicine/small animal medicine is my favourite place to be. This is where my fascination with natural sciences and devotion to teaching meld together.
My working languages are English, Spanish and Russian.
I tend to stay updated on a broad range of topics, yet, most of my work relates to Public Health, Epidemiology, Non-communicable diseases, Health management, Trauma and Orthopedics, Endocrinology, Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology.
As for translation, I prefer working on Manuals, Handbooks, or Guidelines: I am an advanced user of SDL Trados Studio, and try to make the most of it.
