Возрастающее значение Севера и арктических территорий обусловлено тем, что это ‒ зона стратегических интересов России, обладающая уникальным геополитическим, природно-ресурсным, историко-культурным и социально-экономическим потенциалом. Природные ресурсы Севера играют ключевую роль в удовлетворении потребностей экономики страны во многих видах сырья и топлива, которые нельзя получить в других регионах.
Коренные малочисленные народы, проживающие в районах Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока Российской Федерации на территориях традиционного расселения своих предков, сохраняют традиционный образ жизни, хозяйствования и промыслы.
В Российской Федерации проживает 40 коренных малочисленных народов Севера, Сибири и Дальнего Востока общей численностью около 250 тысяч человек. Каждая этническая группа насчитывает менее 50 тысяч человек и является самостоятельной этнической общностью.
Translation - English The Russian Federation is a northern country. 2/3 of its territory is in northern regions with population over 10 million people. The increasing importance of the North and the Arctic is caused by the fact that this zone is a zone of strategic interests for Russia. It has got a unique geopolitical, environmental and resource-based, historic and cultural, social and economic potential. Natural resources of the North have a key role in supplying the economy of the country with many kids of raw materials and fuel that cannot be developed in other regions.
Indigenous minority peoples living in the North, Siberia and the Far East of Russia, the territories of their ancestors, keep on practicing traditional way of life, economy and crafts.
There are more than 40 indigenous minority peoples living in the North, Siberia and the Far East of Russia with total population over 250,000 people. Every ethnic group is represented by more than 50,000 people and is an independent ethnic community.

Ваши состязания уже прочн вошли в календарь важных спортивных событий, приобрели собственные значимые традиции. Одна из них – проведение турнира в разных городах и регионах России. Это способствует популяризации тяжелой атлетики, физической культуры, зворового образа жизни. И, конечно, яркие запоминающиеся выступления участников, их достижения – вдохновляют молодежь выбирать спорт, покорять профессиональные вершины.
Нынешний турнир получил статус квалификационных соревнований к XXXI Олимпийским летним играм в Рио-де-Жанейро. Это – еще одно подтверждение высокого уровня соревнований, признание большой роли России в развитии мировой тяжелой атлетики.

This competition has already taken a solid place in the calendar of important sports events and has developed its own traditions. One of these traditions is to be hosted in different cities and regions of Russia. This competition helps to promote weightlifting, sports and healthy lifestyle. Impressing performances and impressive results of the contestants inspire young people to choose sports and to conquer professional heights.
The present Cup is a qualification competition for the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. This fact is the recognition of the high level of this competition and the important role of Russia in the development of weightlifting globally.
I am sure that this contest will be well organized and that all athletes will justify hopes of their fans and entertain the audience with a fair and uncompromising play.

The North Latitude Route is primarily aimed at building a system of transportation networks that enable intensive economic development of our country.
The railways under construction will connect the northern territories; contribute to the creation of a joint network of Russian roads and a common economic space of Russian regions. These roads will ensure military and economic safety of the country.
The North Latitude Route connected to the multifunction seaport is the only railway that can tie up the industrial center of Russia with rich shelf fields of the Arctic in the shortest possible way.
This is the end of transport blockade of the continental center of the Russian Federation, the revival of the Northern Sea Route, a considerable input into the development of the Arctic coast, and, as a result, a breakthrough in the economy development of our country.
