I graduated from University College Dublin with a Bachelor Degree in Science (Physics). After exploring various career paths, I specialised in Science and Environmental education. For the last seven years I have worked as an Education Officer/Guide for several organisations. I am currently employed by Ulster Wildlife and by the Marble Arch Caves Geopark as a casual guide.
I have also worked as a freelance language teacher on several occasions over the last 25 years, having taught Spanish, Catalan and English to groups and individuals, from beginners to advanced students. I have also ample experience carrying out translations for students, family and friends. This line of work has provided me with the skills necessary to pursue a career as a translator.
Being a freelance translator is an ideal job for me as it brings together several of my skills and interests and gives me the flexibility to keep working as a casual Education Guide.
I am happy to take any sort of translation work, though I would like to eventually specialise in Science translations. |
