Translation - French Va lui dire cela. Comparativement aux années antérieures … j’ai été ravi par le programme de commémoration du génocide au cours de cette année. Au cours des années … quatre-vingt-quinze, quatre-vingt-seize, il y avait un climat très froid entre les gens. Au fond, les gens n’engageaint pas du tout un dialogue franc entre eux. Il y avait un climat de nervosité et de manque de confiance entre eux. Tout cela était causé par le fait qu’on se retrouvait souvent avec des personnes qui avaient encore leurs familles et qui dialoguaient avec elles … alors que, toi, tu n’en avais plus. Tu n’avais même personne pour causer. Au cours de cette période, il y avait un climat de manque de confiance en soi et d’absence de dialogue parmi les gens. Cependant j’ai remarqué que les gens ont changé positivement au fur du temps. Comme le disait Ramazani, nous les jeunes, nous n’avons connu aucun … aucun problème jusqu'à présent. Nous avons plutôt continué à garder l’histoire que … que nos parents nous ont racontée, sans toutefois s’éloigner d’elle et sans penser à nous-mêmes. Cependant nous devons renforcer nos capacités, en tant que jeunes, pour continuer à aller de l’avant, et prospérer. Selon l’exemple de Thomas, chaque personne parmi nous ne va pas dire qu’elle va se marier avec telle ou telle personne. Au fond, nous sommes tous des êtres humains et nous devons nous unir pour ... pour prospérer. Je me sens à l’aise jusqu'à présent, et je suis bien dans ma peau. Je ne me reproche de … de rien suite à mon histoire personnelle et j’engage la conversation avec beaucoup de personnes de diverses catégories. C’est ici que prend fin mon intervention, et j’encourage les jeunes, surtout les membres de notre groupe à aller de l’avant afin de prospérer. Merci.

Felix Nshimiyimana is a
freelance translator and interpreter based in Kigali, Rwanda. He holds a
Bachelor’s degree in English, department of English, translation and
interpreting option, from the National University of Rwanda (sept. 2008) – Huye
Campus. He is a member of RAPTI (Rwanda Association of Professional Translators
and Interpreters) and he has been in the field of translation and interpreting
for more than 16 years. He has got a PGDE (Post Graduate Diploma in Education),
from the University of Kigali in 2020. He has got a certificate of Teaching
English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL), delivered by Oregon University -
USA in August 2013. He has got also a certificate of attendance and completion
of training in Capacitar Trauma Healing and Transformation, delivered by
Capacitar International in July 2009. Last but not least he is a member of
proz.com and has attended different trainings and conferences via proz.com and
has got certificates of participation.
