stop
Translation - English Dharma Wheel Practice (Falun Gong) and Fascism
The more I observe Falun Gong, the more it resembles Fascism. The methods that Falun Gong rhetoric and fascism use to incite the masses are like peas from the same pod, they both created a self serving, strict propaganda system. Heads of both excelled at employing rumors, lies, and deceptive "theories" and slogans to incite their mass followers, manipulating the hearts and minds of naive audiences. Hitler lead the Germans to the trenches of war by creating motivational slogans such as “Rise up, Germany” and “Whatever serves the interest of the German people, is right”; he even structured his autobiography, My Struggle (Mein Kampf), to mimic the Bible, in order spread reactionary ideals of chauvinism, revanchism and racism.
Similarly, in the disguise of Buddhism, Li Hongzhi spread his lies and cheated his followers by making use of the wide-spread “dharma wheel” (Falun) concept, which can dispel worries and subdue enemies. He even enlisted ghostwriters fabricate text such as Turning the Law Wheel (Zhuan Falun), and used deceptive slogans like “truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance” to mislead followers down a dreaded path of extremism.
Another important feature of fascism is the glorification and authoritarian manipulation of the leader by controlling followers’ minds through psychological suggestion and group hypnosis. The Hitler penetrated every aspect of his people's life, and soldiers even had to shout “Hi Hitler” when saluting their officers. Similarly, when selling his theory of global combustion, Li Hongzhi, with merely primary school education, alleged that he had greater power than Sakyamuni Buddha.Within the Great Law of the Dharma Wheel (Falun Dafa) Research Society, a puppet organizaion, Li Hongzhi boasted that he had acquired the superb great law with supernatural powers at the age of 8, and that he was the only one that possessed advanced ability to guide others in spiritual nirvana.

Note From Interview With Mr. Yang Zhichang

Many people have talked about the cause of the February 28th Incident (“228 Incident”), but I will still briefly share my opinion. At the beginning, the Taiwanese were actually very excited about returning to the motherland. Nevertheless, Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) came rolling in with an arrogant autocratic agenda to wrestle away control, which became the leading cause for the “228 Incident”. For instance, the senior KMT city officials at that time asserted that Taiwan didn’t pay any taxes to them over the 50 years that they were under Japan’s rule, and therefore demanded repayment from Taiwan. However, the two parties failed to reach an agreement on this issue. Moreover, as the Taiwanese welcomed the army to the railway station, the they were quite turned off when they saw that the KMT army had brought along their own woks and stoves. In other words, it felt like first-class Taiwanese citizens were to be governed by the third-class KMT. At least during the time of Japanese rule, all Taiwanese citizens received education to varying degrees.
When the incident took place, South Taiwan was barely affected. It was relatively peaceful, despite the traffic being cut off and newspapers out of circulation. It was only later that the commotion spread from the north to the south. I remember once, I was running across the region to cover the incident, and I saw students from South Taiwan Engineering College (known today as National Cheng Kung University) with guns. They were occupying the second floor of a half-collapsed store that had been destroyed by an American bombed in a busy area on Zhongzheng Road. I saw them up there as I walked down the road, and thus asked: “what are you doing?” He said: The KMT army is advancing, we must prepare for a street fight. This type of talk was extremely naive. As I’ve stated, I have a Japanese middle school education, I have also received military training, but how can you have a street battle in a busy city district? In this way the civilian casualties would be great, so I ordered them to go home, if you really wanted to stand up to the KMT army, you must go about it in a practical way, not in the streets, They listened to me and went home without incident.
At that time there were hoodlums that attacked mainlanders as they arrived to Peaceful Anchor Port, and they beat the mainlanders until their faces were all bloodied; That wasn’t the right thing to do. My good friend city official Weng Jinhu, in order to protect mainlanders, blocked them from the entering the Tainan canal, re-routed them to what is today Peace and Happiness Road (the Xinding Golden Pine Building during Japanese occupation), and prepared housing and meals for them. This type of service did not receive any accolades, after the armed forces came Weng Jinhu was arrested after being incriminated by incarcerated mainlanders, proving right a Taiwanese idiom which means kindness is met with malice.
Chinese to English: Taiwan Economics Detailed field: Economics
Source text - Chinese III
Translation - English III Steady March Forward Toward Development
1) Background of economic development
Taiwan earned its epithet, Treasure Island, primarily due to its rich and fertile soil. Blessed with unparalleled beauty and natural scenery, “1 year’s harvest is enough to feast for 3 years”. Yet, most of Taiwan's inhabitants come from the impoverished Fujian province, fostering a “diligent and thrifty" persona. Never able to rely on a mother country to protect it, Taiwan's immigrant society has come a long way, relying solely on it’s own independence, risk taking and perseverance along the way. Due to being occupied by Japan for 50 years, Taiwanese citizens’ education level, judicial consciousness, and sense of duty has already reached any modern day standard. Public health facilities and traffic infrastructure underwent a drastic overhaul, so by the time of the final battle, Taiwan was already at the cusp of industrialization. Even though an American bomb destroyed a portion of Taiwan’s industry during the pacific warfare, the manpower and will of the Taiwanese people was never broken by the war, and they were able to restore it with relative ease. The "Taiwan Experience" should not be limited to the economic takeoff experienced after the war, it also includes the economic development that took place before the war, and the legacy inherited from Japan. Following the post-war "228" catastrophe, the KMT political regime pushed away from politics and towards economic development, Up to this point in our history, those responsible for Taiwan’s prosperity are not the large corporations or state-run enterprises, but rather the numerous small and medium sized businesses; it’s Taiwan’s small-medium sized enterprise warriors, stateless international businessmen (Taiwanese passports are not recognized universally), who are actually the silent heroes of Taiwan’s economic miracle.
